-Ted Kim —Tennis Professional-

Ted played collegiate tennis at Seattle University. He coached his 2014 mixed 6.0 team to the national title. He is the head coach for the advanced junior tennis programs at MCTC. Ted is on the Team Babolat Advisory staff. Ted Kim coaches the Tournament Champs class of the junior program and offers private lessons.


-Kim Somerville—Tennis Professional-

Kim coached the Skagit Valley College men’s & women’s tennis teams from 2009 to 2016, and has over 35 years of experience teaching tennis. During her tenure at Skagit Valley College, she was twice named the NWAACC coach of the year and coached 9 players to conference championship titles. Kim earned her BA degree in kinesiology from Stephen F Austin University and holds a Doctor of Chiropractor degree. Kim is on the Wilson Advisory Staff. Kim Somerville coaches the Little Varsity, Future Varisty, Junior Varsity, and Varsity classes in the junior program. She also offers private lessons.

-Ron Mortensen—Tennis Professional-

Ron has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Eastern Washington University and played college tennis EWU. He was the assistant tennis coach at BC and EWU and the head coach at Eastside Catholic HS. Ron is on the Head Advisory Staff. Ron offers private lessons throughout the week and is available Mon-Fri from 6am-9am.


-Mary Tait—Tennis Professional-

Mary hails from Spokane, WA where she won a state high school singles championship in 1988. She went on to play number one for UW Huskies in 1989-92. She earned a BA in English from UW and went on to receive two MA’s in Athletic Administration from Gonzaga University, and Elementary Education from Eastern Washington University. She has over twenty years of coaching experience and is a USPTA Level 1- Elite Certified Tennis Professional. Mary will be assisting the Jr Program and Coaching USTA Teams. She is available for private lessons.
